Haute Couture Fashion Week is not just about luxury clothing for the who-whos of the world’s rich and elite. For me, what makes Haute Couture Fashion week so special is the artistry that displayed on the runways of Paris. The hottest designers show their craft. I wish I could afford a ticket, but again I’m just a poor artist from Texas. So I went to places like Harper’s Bazaar and Eonline and culled the best looks this year from their galleries.
1 . Fendi
I really the texture in this. Honestly, I wouldn’t be caught dead in this outfit even I could fit it. But it’s just pretty to look at. I especially like the play on textures and shape with the flowers and crochet holes
2 . Galia Lahav
I love this outfit, especially the dress. The dress is off the shoulders, bell sleeves and satin belt waist gives the whole dress a romantic feel to it. The velvet texture of the dress really gives the overall dress a formal feel. This could be easily worn a nice dinner or a formal event. You can totally rock this dress around Christmas if you add some tights.
3 . Versace
Honestly, I can see this dress on the red carpet possibly on someone like Emma Stone. Sheer is in this year, and it’s daring enough to give some star all the attention in the room. Again, I love the lines and the shape of netting look in front of the dress, and the drama of the feathers on the bottom.
4 . Valentino
This piece gives the impression of light and airy with almost ethereal quality to it. Again, the trend of sheerness comes into play and the lines in the fabric giving it a hint of texture to the otherwise monogamous look. I think really makes this jumpsuit work for me is the color. I love the light pastel yellow which really gives to the overall feeling of air.
5 . Chanel
Chanel is my favorite designer ever. I have been in love with Chanel since the moment I recognized what fashion was. And of course, Chanel brought their usual excellence this year. I love this dress, it’s a little young for me to wear, but this dress brings to mind of going out on the town and dancing all night under a disco ball. With the dress’s silver metallics mixed with soft pastel pink. This dress to me is all about glamor and elegance.
6 . Versace
Versace once again just dominating the runway this year with this piece. I love the play on texture, lines, and shape. It still has that feathery effect like the previous dress I showed you guys but this time it’s much more subtle. I can diffidently see this being worn by someone on the red carpet soon.
7 . Armani
Proving once again that Armani can create more than a sharp suit. Armani is playing on the sheer trend again with the nude tones and light fabric. I really like the crystals on this jumpsuit that really gives it a glamourous look. I also like the slight ruching on the side of the waist as well. Overall, a perfect summer or spring jumpsuit to go out on the town in.
8. Jean Paul Gaultier
This outfit is a direct opposite of my previous pick. Looking chic while in cold weather is harder than it looks. However, with this coat, you diffidently will be both warm and fashionable this winter. Again, I love the rich texture with the black fur collar and the crystals sewn on the jacket. Also, Jean Paul Gaultier is rocking the white shoes and white stockings that have been all over the runway this season.
9. Ellie Saab
Saab is my second favorite designer of all time right underneath Chanel. I always love what Ellie Saab comes out with every season and this time is no different! I saw this dress and wished I was thin enough and rich enough to buy it. I love everything about it from the fur wrap, the rich forest green color, with the gold detailing on the bottom. This gives the dress a diffident autumn/winter feeling to the overall ensemble.
The best for last in my opinion. This simple but elegant dress with the sheer sleeves and the silhouette reminds me of dresses from the 1940s. The velvet really gives me a winter or autumn feel to the overall look. This dress is perfect if you want to try the sheer trend without going really risque with it. Overall, it’s elegant and sexy, but what else can expect from a brand like Dior?
So that is my top ten favorite looks from the Spring Couture Fashion Week in Paris. What is your favorite look? Tell me down in the comments!
