Happy Hump Day, guys! I hope you are having a wonderful week so far. This time, I decided to take my photos outside my home and instead at my neighborhood park. The shoot did not go so well (more on that later). This time around I decided to go with a safari theme, so a lot of African inspired items are in this outfit as well.
By the way, the quality of these pictures suck. I’m sorry about that, but that is what you get when you have your mom (who is no photographer) take your pictures while trying to wrangle two hyperactive toddlers.
Anyway, I’m all about the Autumn transitioning, but San Antonio weather was not having it that day. It was like 90 degrees. So I keep things light and sleeveless. I’m also wearing my new red wig that I was inspired by my friend Trina’s awesome red wig. I love a good wig, and I actually prefer to wear wigs over my natural hair because I can change hairstyles and colors without any fuss. Actually, my natural hair is cut into a buzzcut (one day I will take photos with my natural hair).
I decided to wear my linen vest that immediately made think of going on an African safari. I wanted to play with color and chose to go outside the box slightly with the color palette. So it’s all earth tones: olive, brown, tan, and taupe. I think I really pulled off the look, but even with the vest, I was sweating like a pig.
As for accessories, I kept with African style beaded jewelry. As always, my jewelry is from my mother’s hugemungous costume jewelry collection. I chose a dark green beaded necklace and a light brown beaded bracelet to match, The shoes are my new shoes from Payless that I got on sale. Last month, I actually got a steal when I bought three pairs of shoes for like $20 bucks using the Honey extension. I honestly thought, that Payless didn’t send them and I was about to throw out the box when my mother found these pair of pointed linen and brown flats by Fiori.
And before I finish this post, I promised to tell you the story behind this shoot. So my mom was like “Let’s take the kids out for fun day at the park while the rest of the kids are at school.’ And I was like sure, this would the perfect time to go out and take some pictures not taken in my front yard. Turns out my mother kept taking horizontal photos and I kept having to remind my mother to do vertical photos. Also, the canon point and shoot these photos were taken from had horrible quality and the whole shoot was rushed because we had two toddlers running around the playground like maniacs. I have learned my lesson and brought a steel tripod so I can take my own pictures for now on.
So this is my safari inspired outfit. What do you think? Love it or hate it? Let me know down in the comments!
