Happy hump day, everyone! I hope that you guys are having a wonderful week so far! Today, I decided to do pictures outside of my front porch. I know it’s a shocker, and one day I might take pictures at a totally different location. With these photos, the quality is horrible, but I also took them on a day when it was scattered showers all day. So I was literally dodging rain in 3-inch platform heels.
And unlike my super awesome blogging friends, I don’t wear shoes a lot and when I wear shoes I usually wear flats or flip-flops. Honestly, raising five kids is not conducive to wearing heels every day. However, I decided to pull out these old favorite heels I bought ten years ago (does that make them vintage)? And wear them with a simple of thick plum pants (perfect to transition into fall with), a simple scoop neck black cotton shirt and underneath a white short sleeve button down shirt, my favorite simple knitted beanie hat (that I have nicknamed ‘my hat of great justice’) and my newsprint plastic clutch. All of these items are pretty much are staples that every woman should have their closet.
Now, I live in South Texas and we don’t get cool weather until late October, early November. So while the most of the Northen Hampshire is already neck deep in Autumn weather. We southerners are still in the Autumn transitional stage so that diffidently means LAYERS. I actually took off the white button down later on that day and I was perfectly fine when the weather heated up to a balmy 80 degrees.
I decided to really play with color with this outfit and instead of keeping it completely monotone, to break it up with a statement color. I love this shade of a plum, I have seen this shade popping up on my favorite fashion blog, especially one of my go-to blogs ‘Reverie of the Roses’ by my blog buddy Martina. This outfit is especially nice if you are going out on errands, or to a nice lunch, or heck exchange the high heels (like I did later that day) for some flats and you can easily run errands in them.
You guys know how much I just love to accessorize! I didn’t have time to get close-ups of my shoes and my hat of great justice but I did get these photos of my jewelry. Once again, on loan from my mother’s fabulous costume jewelry collection. Frist off, is this elegant golden ball necklace. It really adds another pop of color to this outfit without being way too matchy-matchy about it. Also, I’m a dark-skinned gal and gold always looks good on my skin.
And finally, this bracelet that I wore during my first personal outfit post ‘A Study Of Turquoise’. I really love it and so easy and comfortable to wear, which makes me want to wear it over and over again!
Before I end this post, I wanted to let all of you know that I’m now on Lookbook. I don’t always post every outfit I wear on this blog. I sometimes post them on Instagram but if you want to see all of my looks check out me on Lookbook. Now, that I’m done with this post and this shameless plug what do you think about my outfit? Love it or hate it? Let me know down in the comments!
