Hello, everyone and welcome back! I hope you guys had a wonderful weekend! Today’s outfit was inspired by one my favorite witches from childhood “Sabrina: THe Teenage Witch”. As always, I love to put my own twist on common Halloween costumes and this outfit is no expectation of that. I put a modern twist on the classic costume, and as with the Wednesday Addams outfit, I made it a little bit sexier. However, if you are uncomfortable with that, you can easily switch out the boots and take off the corset.
Also, a lot of the items are super expensive. So, I will be listing cheaper alternatives under the more expensive items. Now, I have yammered on long enough, time to get started breaking down this outfit!
Confession: I dress up as a witch every year. I’m a non-practicing pagan and I tend to use Halloween to use my freak flag fly. I usually create my witch outfit with separates, but I do love a black dress. If you have a little black dress is a way to add a little sex appeal.
For a witch’s outfit, I love a corset. I didn’t choose the old fashion laced up corset, I really wanted to add a modern twist. So I chose this Tee Shirt corset from Kendall-Kylie.com. And yes, it’s from the Kardashians/Jenner reality franchise, and I tend to give that whole clan a wide berth, but I will admit that I like some of their items, especially this corset.
I love this necklace and choker set from Witchchic. It adds a little pizazz to an outfit and really cements theme of magic and impossible things.
To add a little bit of witchy flare, I added this hooded cape by Oscar De La Renta. It’s classic and perfect for any witch costume. I really the construction, because you can leave it open at the front and it won’t completlely hide your costume!
I was going to do the transitional Victorian/witch style boot, but for someone who is as short as Melissa Joan Hart, I decided to do something that will elongate her body. Also, this boot is a nice (and sexy) modern twist to that particular style. I love everything about this boot, from the fastenings on the front to buckles. It’s a just all around sexy boot and it’s not all that expensive too!
Although, my focus with this outfit was to take a classic witch’s costume and make it modern and sexy. No witch would be complete without her pointy hat. I love this hat in particular because of the purple lacing. It really adds a pop of color to an otherwise monotone outfit.
I forgot to add the broom to my simplified outfit set. Sorry about that folks! I love this broom, it’s a little girl’s costume but hey if you don’t want to lift around a huge broom with you on Halloween then this is a nice alternative. Also, the gold adds a hint of color, so your costume can stand out a bit.
This is my outfit for Sabrina Spellman from ‘Sabrina: The Teenage Witch’. What do you think? Love it or hate it? Let me know down in the comments!
