I originally posted this article a few months ago. However, sadly to the reboot, I lost the original post. So I decided to repost it again as a tribute to my fashion blogger Trina Morgan from The Tipsy Heelz blog. We had a blast chatting about life, style inspiration, and everything in between.

I first met Trina when she graciously allowed me to write a guest post on her blog. Since then, she has taken me under her wing and has become a pillar of my blogging tribe. So sit down, grab a chair, and enjoy my conversation with Trina Morgan.

Trina: I live about 23 miles from Navasota in a small college city named College Station is known for the Texas A&M Aggies. I’ve been here since 2004 and I’ve grown to love it because of it so beautiful and have it’s constantly growing with so many restaurants and entertainment.

Gigi: Oh, I know College Station. I heard some very nice things about that town.

Trina: Yes love it! The people are so nice and friendly and there is always some cool event going on, some which I have attended in the past. They have wine tasting events sometimes, Wolf Pen Creek that has amazing bands.

It’s free and you can bring your chairs and drinks and enjoy the entertainment.

Gigi: Oh, that does sound fun. San Antonio is practically boring to that.  So did you always have an interest in Fashion?

Trina: Well I started getting interested when  I saw my first fashion magazines called Cosmopolitan. I saw all these beautiful women in pretty clothes and wished I could dress like them. In my early thirties, I became really interested so I started my first blog back then and started posting fashion clothes as a hobby and to share what I loved. This year I really ventured out and started modeling my clothes for my blog readers to see.

The first blog was Big Girls Don’t cry for plus size women

I love fashion because it gives me a chance to be creative and mix things up. When I wake fashion is on my mind lol! Maybe weird to some but I love it

Gigi: I know it takes courage to get from behind the camera and put yourself out there.  It was people like you who made me realize despite my physical scars and weight that I could go out there and do it.

Where you nervous when you first started modeling for your photos? Are were always as confident?

Gigi: You are so welcome and books are excellent for researching and coming up with your ideas from them. I started it out as a business blog, the first one was a hobby. So in the beginning of starting Tipsy Heelz was serious business wise

Trina: I am in the beginning and meant for it to a business but I’m waiting a year until I have an audience before start really going all in a business.

Gigi: Cool! I give you props for waiting a year for your blog. I would recommend you visit as many blogs and make friends and make honest comments, this is how you build bonds with people and before you know it you’ll have a loyal following who love what you do.

Trina: Oh, I know! I had to lay off the Facebook groups so I can further concentrate on networking.

Gigi: I feel you on that hon. As more than the money, what really sold me was the communities of bloggers out there. As an artist, I literally had no one the field is so competitive at times. My favorite part is the friends I have made in the community and how inclusive and welcoming it was to me.

Trina: Yes it surely is competitive. When I join communities I look for friendliness and people that can give me some constructive criticism on what I need to do to improve

Gigi: Yes, and I will admit I have a Facebook groups addiction. But everyone was so welcoming and what surprised me is that Fashion bloggers come in different sizes and shapes and ages. That you didn’t have to be Naomi Campbell to be welcomed in our community.

Trina: Yes I love that! all of us coming together as a community.

Gigi: Where do you find inspiration for your posts.

Trina: I find inspiration all over from family to friends and even googling what’s trending. I also use Polyvore sometimes even though I’ve never purchased from it before. I like to build outfit ideas in case one day I might just want to buy an outfit I create there. Inspiration is everywhere lol!

Gigi: I love Polyvore, and I use it a lot for my blog posts. Although, I never buy from them.  What is your favorite designer?

Trina: That’s cool! To tell you the truth my cousin lol! Even though her designs aren’t in production, that girl has some beautiful unique designs on paper. I would wear her fashion in a heartbeat whenever she get her stuff out there, but I like some designers such as Igigi, Monif C and others

Gigi: Oh awesome, well let me know if she has any plans to of starting her own brand and I would love to talk to her.

Trina:  What has been your favorite post so far?

Gigi: I surely will let her know. My favorite post was me in the little Black dress and leggings lol! I looked pretty darn sexy and my husband loved it too. I got a pretty good amount of comments and compliments on my blog about it. I also loved your fashion post in that pretty blouse and Black leggings. You looked so beautiful hon!

Trina: Aw, thank you hon! I am a legging junky. I got leggings in so many colors I can’t even begin to tell you.  And I loved that outfit, especially that necklace was everything.

Gigi: You are so welcome. I need to get me more leggings especially some cute multicolor ones I’ve seen with colorful leopard stripes. I am considering buying different color tights this season. I just love mixing colors and patterns

Trina: Awesome! Can’t wait for you to share

Gigi: Thanks, hon! I guess my last question is what are your goals for Tipsyheelz in the future?

Trina: You are very welcomed!! My goals for Tipsy Heelz is to grow more, get more subscribers and make enough income to help my husband around the house. Hopefully adding new things of interest to get my blog name out there more.
